Every synth sound starts life as a simple repeating shape. There are four classics, and you've heard three of them already. Tap through them again and really listen to the character.

The round one is close to a sine: pure, soft, almost no harmonics. The saw ramps up and drops: bright, buzzy, full of harmonics. The square jumps between two levels: hollow and reedy, the sound of old video games.
